(The document as of February, 2008) Statutory Instruments2007 No. 3203В В (C.132)policeThe Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 6) OrderВ 2007Made 8th November 2007 The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 53(1) of the Police and Justice Act 2006(1). 1. В В This Order may be cited as the Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 6) Order 2007. 2. В В The following provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006 shall come into force on 1st December 2007 to the extent not already in force-- (a) section 7 (standard powers and duties of community support officers); (b) section 9 (exercise of police powers by civilians) in so far as it relates to the entries in Schedule 5 (exercise of police powers by civilians) referred to in sub-paragraph (c); (c) in Schedule 5 (exercise of police powers by civilians) paragraphs 1 to 6, apart from paragraph 5(11); (d) section 52 (amendments and repeals) in so far as it relates to the entry in Schedule 15 (repeals and revocations) referred to in sub-paragraph (e); and (e) in Schedule 15 (repeals and revocations), the entry in Part 1(B) relating to Schedule 4 of the Police Reform Act 2002(2). 3. В В The following provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006 shall come into force on 31st December 2007-- (a) section 5 (power to merge schemes); and (b) Schedule 3 (power to merge police pension schemes). Tony McNulty Minister of State Home Office 8th November 2007 EXPLANATORY NOTE(This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into force on 1st December 2007 the provisions of the Police and Justice Act 2006 listed in article 2 (to the extent they are not already in force). This Order also brings into force section 5 of, and Schedule 3 to, that Act on 31st December 2007. NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS(This note is not part of the Order) The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by commencement orders made before the date of this Order:
