(The document as of February, 2008) Statutory Instruments2007 No. 2377CIVIL AVIATIONThe Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Prisons) (Amendment) Regulations 2007Made 9th August 2007 Coming into force 31st August 2007 The Secretary of State for Transport deems it necessary in the public interest to restrict flying in the vicinity of certain prisons and, in exercise of her powers under article 96 of the Air Navigation Order 2005(1), makes the following Regulations: 1. В В These Regulations may be cited as the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Prisons) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and come into force on 31st August 2007. 2. В В The Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Prisons) Regulations 2001(2) are amended as follows. 3. --(1)В After regulation 3(3)(c) there is added-- " (d) in relation to the prison at Maghaberry, flight by any aircraft for the purpose of landing at or taking off from Belfast International Airport, being an aircraft which is under the control of the air traffic control unit at that Airport. " (2)В In the Second Schedule, after the entry for Long Lartin there is inserted--
Signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport Jim Fitzpatrick Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Department for Transport 9th August 2007 EXPLANATORY NOTE(This note is not part of the Order) These Regulations further amend the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Prisons) Regulations 2001 by adding Maghaberry to the list of prisons over which flying is restricted. This restriction was formerly contained in the Air Navigation (Restriction of Flying) (Security Establishments in Northern Ireland) Regulations 1996 which are revoked by a separate instrument.
