(The document as of February, 2008) Statutory Instruments2007 No. 1101ANIMALs, ENGLANDPrEVENTION OF CRUELTY The Welfare of Animals (Miscellaneous Revocations) (England) Regulations 2007Made 30th March 2007 Coming into force 6th April 2007 The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1968(1) and now vested in him. In accordance with section 2(1) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted those persons appearing to him to represent interests with which these Regulations are concerned as he considered appropriate. In accordance with section 2(3) of that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament. Title, commencement and application1. В В These Regulations-- (a) may be cited as the Welfare of Animals (Miscellaneous Revocations) (England) Regulations 2007; (b) come into force on 6th April 2007; (c) apply in England only. Revocations2. В В The instruments described in the first and second columns of the Schedule are revoked to the extent described in the third column of the Schedule. EXPLANATORY NOTE(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations revoke the provisions specified in the Schedule, as a consequence of the replacement of their substance in the Mutilations (Permitted Procedures) (England) Regulations 2007. No regulatory impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations. A regulatory impact assessment for the Mutilations (Permitted Procedures) (England) Regulations 2007 has been prepared and placed in the library of each House of Parliament; copies can be obtained from the Animal Welfare Division, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, 1A Page Street, London SW1P 4PQ. In relation to England, the functions of the Ministers under the Act were transferred to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food by the Transfer of Functions (Agriculture and Food) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/3141). The functions of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food were transferred to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs by virtue of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Dissolution) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/794).
