The Equality Act 2006 (Commencement No.2) Order 2007

The Secretary of State makes this Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 93 of the Equality Act 2006(1).

Citation

1.   This Order may be cited as the Equality Act 2006 (Commencement No.2) Order 2007.

Provisions coming into force

2.   The following provisions of the Equality Act 2006 shall come into force on 30th April 2007--

(a) section 40 so far as it relates to paragraph 57 of Schedule 3;

(b) sections 44 to 52(5);

(c) sections 52(7) to 69;

(d) sections 72 to 80; and

(e) paragraph 57 of Schedule 3.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force Part 2 of the Equality Act 2006 (Discrimination on Grounds of Religion or Belief) (other than sections 52(6), 70 and 71 which are already in force) on 30th April 2007.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
