The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the A27 Trunk Road (Southerham to Beddingham Improvements) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 21st August 2006. (2) In this Order, all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway. 2.The length of highway described in the Schedule to this Order shall become a trunk road from the date when this Order comes into force. 3.The centre line of the new trunk road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan numbered HA10/MP/064, marked "The A27 Trunk Road (Southerham to Beddingham Improvements) Order 2006", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the ODPM-DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA. Signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport Peter Wallwork A Divisional Director Highways Agency 10th August 2006 The length of highway becoming trunk road is a route from a point starting on the A27 trunk road 310 metres north west of its level crossing of the Lewes to Eastbourne Railway and passing in a generally eastwards direction over the Lewes to Eastbourne Railway to end at the A27/A26 Beddingham roundabout as proposed to be improved, a distance of 0.81 kilometres.
