The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16 and 326 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1.This Instrument may be cited as The Manchester City Council (Mancunian Way) Special Road Scheme 1968 Variation Scheme 2005 Confirmation Instrument 2006 and shall come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980. 2.The Manchester City Council (Mancunian Way) Special Road Scheme 1968 Variation Scheme 2005 ("the Scheme") is hereby confirmed without modifications. 3.The Scheme as confirmed is set out in the Schedule hereto including the plan and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plan are deposited at the offices of the Department for Transport, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA, and at the offices of Manchester City Council, Room 601, City Solicitor's Office, Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA. Blackie Regional Director Government Office for the North East 16th February 2006 The Council of the City of Manchester ("the Council") makes this Scheme in exercise of its power under Section 16 and 326 of the Highways Act 1980 and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf: 1.The Manchester City Council (Mancunian Way) Special Road Scheme 1968 is hereby varied by adding Class IX of the Classes of Traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 as a class of traffic permitted to use those lengths of the special roads described in the Schedule to this Scheme and which are shown on the deposited plan edged by a solid black line and given the reference letters A and B. 2.In this scheme:
3.This Scheme may be cited as the Manchester City Council (Mancunian Way) Special Road Scheme 1968 Variation Scheme 2005. That length of the Mancunian Way eastbound exit slip road from a point 22.5 metres west of its junction with Medlock Street roundabout westwards for a distance of 65 metres.
