The Registrar General, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 24A(3) and (4)(a) of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999[1] , with the approval of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, makes the following Regulations: Citation, commencement and interpretation 1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Reporting of Suspicious Civil Partnerships Regulations 2005 and shall come into force on 5th December 2005. (2) In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires "the 1999 Act" means the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. Reporting of suspicious civil partnerships 2.For the purpose of section 24A of the 1999 Act (duty to report suspicious civil partnerships) the person concerned[2] shall—
(b) forward that report to the Home Office, National Intelligence Unit, PO Box 1000, Hayes, Middlesex UB3 5WB or, where the Secretary of State has notified the Registrar General of another address to be used in relation to any particular registration authority, that address.
Information to be provided when reporting a suspicious civil partnership Name and surname of each of the civil partners Date of birth and /or age of each of the civil partners Sex of each of the civil partners Condition of each of the civil partners Address (and registration authority of residence) of each of the civil partners Nationality of each of the civil partners Date of formation of civil partnership Place of formation of civil partnership Time of formation of civil partnership Nature of evidence produced in respect of—
(ii) condition (iii) nationality of the civil partners (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations set out the procedure for reporting certain civil partnerships to the Secretary of State where it is suspected that the civil partnership will be, or is, a sham civil partnership.
