The Hovercraft (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2004


 Made21st July 2004 
 Coming into force6th September 2004 

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by article 35 of the Hovercraft (General) Order 1972[1] and with the approval of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
    1.These Regulations may be cited as the Hovercraft (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 6th September 2004.

Amendment of the Hovercraft (Fees) Regulations 1997
    2. - (1) The Hovercraft (Fees) Regulations 1997[2] shall be amended as follows.

    (2) In regulation 5, for "Ј60" there shall be substituted "Ј78".

    (3) For the table in regulation 9 there shall be substituted the following table:

    per hour or part thereof
    1.For waiting time prior to the commencement of and during the course of survey or inspection:

for periods not in excess of one hour

No fee
For periods in excess of one hour - 

For surveys in the United Kingdom

For surveys abroadЈ156
    2.For abortive visits in the United Kingdom: for the time wasted in excess of one hour at the place of survey or inspection plus time occupied in travelling to and from the place of survey

    3.When a surveyor or inspector is called upon to perform services at unusual hours; for work undertaken during the following hours, including time occupied in travelling:

Mondays to Fridays inclusive between 6 pm and 8 am and all day Saturday

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Hovercraft (Fees) Regulations 1997 (S.I. 1997/320) (the principal Regulations) to prescribe changes in some of the fees charged.

In Part 3 of the principal Regulations, the hourly rate chargeable under regulation 5 for the services specified in regulation 6 has been increased from Ј60 to Ј78.

Revised fees have been introduced in respect of the additional fees payable under regulation 9 of the principal Regulations. The changes to the fees charged are as follows:
