The Treasury, in exercise of the power conferred upon them by section 291(4) of the Finance Act 2004[1], hereby make the following Order:

1.This Order may be cited as the Finance Act 2004, section 291, (Appointed Day) Order 2004.

2.The day appointed as the day on which subsections (1) to (3) of section 291 of the Finance Act 2004 come into force is 23rd July 2004.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 23rd July 2004 the provisions of primary law that provide for the new aggregates levy transitional tax credit in Northern Ireland.
