The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 63 of the Health Act 1999[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1.This Order may be cited as the Health Act 1999 (Consequential Amendments) (Nursing and Midwifery) (No. 2) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 11th August 2004. Extent 2.This Order extends to Scotland only. Amendment of the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1995 3.In the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1995[2], in regulation 2 (interpretation and application), in paragraph (1) -
(b) in the definition of "supplementary prescriber", for sub-paragraph (a), substitute -
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order amends the definitions of "independent nurse prescriber" and "supplementary prescriber" to replace an incorrect reference to the "Nursing and Midwifery Register" with a reference to the "nurses' and midwives' professional register". Notes: [1] 1999 c. 8.back [2] S.I. 1995/414. Relevant amendments were made by S.S.I. 2003/296 and S.I. 2004/ 1771.
