The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Lord Chancellor by section 6(7) of the Access to Justice Act 1999[1] and now vested in him[2], makes the following Regulations a draft of which has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament: 1.These Regulations may be cited as the Community Legal Service (Scope) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 1st April 2004. 2.In paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Access to Justice Act 1999[3] -
(b) in sub-paragraph (h), for "business." substitute "business, or" (c) after sub-paragraph (h), insert -
(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations amend Schedule 2 to the Access to Justice Act 1999 so as to exclude from the scope of the Community Legal Service (subject to any directions made under section 6(8) of that Act) help in relation to attending an interview conducted on behalf of the Secretary of State with a view to his reaching a decision on a claim for asylum.
