The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations: Citation and commencement 1.These Regulations may be cited as the M11 Motorway (Junction 4 Northbound, Redbridge) (Speed Limit) Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 3rd March 2004. Imposition of speed limit 2. - (1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on any specified length of carriageway on the M11 from Junction 4 northbound. (2) In this regulation "specified length of carriageway" means -
(b) the entry slip road from the A406 westbound carriageway to the M11 motorway northbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 10/4 and MP 12/5; and (c) the entry slip road from the A406 eastbound carriageway to the M11 motorway northbound carriageway between marker post numbers MP 11/4 and MP 12/5.
(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations impose a maximum speed limit of 50 miles per hour when driving any motor vehicle on the M11 motorway for a 1,000 metre length on the northbound carriageway at Junction 4 and on the total length of the two entry slip roads from the A406 North Circular Road to that motorway. A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business. Notes: [1] 1984 (c. 27).
