The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him [2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf: 1.This Order may be cited as the A646 Trunk Road (Halifax-M65) (Detrunking) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st April 2004. 2.In this Order -
(ii) "the trunk road" means the north of Halifax-M65 Trunk Road (A646) 3.The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which this order comes into force. The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between the A6139 at Tuel Lane at Halifax and the junction with the A679 Accrington Road/Rosegrove Lane at Burnley and is shown by broad black dashes on the plans numbered HA 10/OD/372, marked "A646 Trunk Road (Halifax-M65) (Detrunking) Order 2003" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport, and deposited at the DfT Records Management Branch, Ashdown House, St. Leonards-on-Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA.
