The Advanced Television Services (Amendment) Regulations 2003

The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated[1] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[2] in relation to measures relating to advanced television services, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by that section, hereby makes the following Regulations - 

    1.These Regulations may be cited as the Advanced Television Services (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 17th November 2003.

    2.In the definition of "wide-screen television service" in regulation 3 of the Advanced Television Services Regulations 2003[3], for "height-width ratio" there shall be substituted "width-height ratio".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


Regulation 3 of the Advanced Television Services Regulations 2003 incorrectly defines "wide-screen television service" by reference to a height-width ratio of 16:9. These Regulations correct this so as to refer to a width-height ratio of 16:9.
