The Police Appeals Tribunals (Amendment) Rules 2003

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 85 of the Police Act 1996[1], and after consultation with the Council on Tribunals in accordance with section 8 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992[2], hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement
    1.These Rules may be cited as the Police Appeals Tribunals (Amendment) Rules 2003 and shall come into force on 15th November 2003.

Amendment to the Police Appeals Tribunals Rules 1999
    2. - (1) Rule 5 of the Police Appeals Tribunals Rules 1999[3] is amended as follows.

    (2) In paragraph (1) after the words "section 50(3) of the Act" there is inserted "or section 81 of the Police Act 1997".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Rules)


These Rules amend the Police Appeals Tribunals Rules 1999 in consequence of the National Crime Squad being able to directly recruit officers following the bringing into force, to the extent they were not already in force, of sections 87 and 91 of the Police Reform Act 2002 (c. 32).
