The Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 (Addition of Qualifying Judicial Offices) (No. 2) Order 2003

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1(8) of the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993[1], makes the following Order:

    1.This Order may be cited as the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 (Addition of Qualifying Judicial Offices) (No.2) Order 2003 and comes into force on 1st November 2003.

    2.In Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 (offices which may be qualifying judicial offices), after the entry relating to the President of the Competition Commission Appeal Tribunals, insert - 

      " Chairman of a Mental Health Review Tribunal appointed on or after 1st November 2003".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the Judicial Pensions and Retirement Act 1993 so as to add to the list of qualifying judicial offices for the purposes of Part 1 of the Act that of chairman of a Mental Health Review Tribunal for a region in England or for Wales.
