The Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2003

The Secretary of State for Transport, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973[1] and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[2], and in exercise of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: - 

Citation and commencement
    1.These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 and shall come into force on 11th August 2003.

Increases in fees
    2.In regulation 3 of the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986[3] for "Ј259" there shall be substituted "Ј267" and for " Ј105" there shall be substituted "Ј108".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986 so as to increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for the installation or repair of recording equipment (tachographs).

The fee for the issue of an approval is increased by 3.1% from Ј259 to Ј267 and for the renewal of an approval by 2.9% from Ј105 to Ј108.

A regulatory impact assessment has been prepared and copies can be obtained from the Department for Transport, Zone 2/05, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR (telephone number: 020-7944 2455). A copy has been placed in the library of each House of Parliament.
