Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers in section 2(5) and (6) of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

Citation and commencement
1.This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for England (Health Protection Agency (Yr Asiantaeth Diogelu Iechyd)) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 9th July 2003.

Designation as body subject to investigation
2.The Health Protection Agency (Yr Asiantaeth Diogelu Iechyd) is hereby designated as a Special Health Authority to which section 2 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993 (health service bodies subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner) applies.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order designates the Health Protection Agency (Yr Asiantaeth Diogelu Iechyd) as a health service body subject to investigation by the Health Service Commissioner under section 2 of the Health Service Commissioners Act 1993.
