The Police (Revocation of Secretary of State's Objectives) Order 2003

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 37(1) of the Police Act 1996[1], after consultation in accordance with section 37(2) of that Act, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

    1.This Order may be cited as the Police (Revocation of Secretary of State's Objectives) Order 2003 and shall come into force on 1st April 2003.

    2.The Police (Secretary of State's Objectives) Order 2002[2] is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


The Order revokes the existing Secretary of State's objectives for the policing of the areas of all police authorities established under section 3 of the Police Act 1996 and of the Metropolitan Police Authority. Strategic policing priorities and objectives now form part of the National Policing Plan made under section 36A of the Police Act 1996.
