The District of Waveney (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2002


 Made2nd December 2002 
 Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

The Electoral Commission[1], in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 17[2] and 26[3] of the Local Government Act 1992, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement
    1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the District of Waveney (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2002.

    (2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Amendment to the 2001 Order
    2. - (1) The District of Waveney (Electoral Changes) Order 2001[4] shall be amended as follows.

    (2) In Article 6(2) the words "Wangford with Henham" shall be removed.

    (3) In Article 6(3) the words "Wangford with Henham" shall be inserted before the words "and Wrentham".

    (4) In Article 6(4) the words "Wangford with Henham" shall be inserted before the words "and Wrentham".

    (5) In Article 6(7) the words "Wangford with Henham" shall be inserted before the words "and Wrentham".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order amends the District of Waveney (Electoral Changes) Order 2001 by providing for the parish of Wangford with Henham to hold elections in 2003 rather than in 2002.

That Order was made by the Secretary of State. The functions of the Secretary of State under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992, so far as they relate to electoral changes, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962) with effect from 1st April 2002.

[1] The Electoral Commission was established by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c. 41). The functions of the Secretary of State, under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992 (c. 19), so far as they relate to electoral changes within the meaning of that Act, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962).back
