The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 44 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001[1] hereby makes the following Order: 1.This Order may be cited as the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 5) Order 2002. 2.Part 2 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 shall come into force on 1st December 2002 to the extent necessary to enable the Secretary of State to make regulations. 3.Except for the extent to which it is already in force and for the provisions mentioned in article 4, Part 2 of that Act shall come into force on 1st January 2003. 4.Sections 17(1), 24(4) and (5), 25(3) and (4), 26, and 29 of that Act shall come into force on 1st March 2003. The powers to make Regulations are brought into force on 1st December 2002 and other provisions on 1st January and 1st March 2003. (This note is not part of the Order)
