ROAD TRAFFIC

The M4 Motorway (London Borough of Hounslow) (Bus Lane) Order 1998 (Variation) Order 2002

	Coming into force	23rd July 2002

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) and (3) of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis pursuant to section 7(6) of that Act[2], hereby makes the following Order -

Citation and commencement
    1.This Order may be cited as The M4 Motorway (London Borough of Hounslow) (Bus Lane) Order 1998 (Variation) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 23rd July 2002.

Amendment
    2.The M4 Motorway (London Borough of Hounslow) (Bus Lane) Order 1998[3] shall be amended as follows:

    (1) To article 2 there shall be added -

" "motor cycle" has the meaning given in section 136(4) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;".

(2) For article 3(2)(a) there shall be substituted -

" a bus, licensed taxi or motor cycle;".
