The Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973[1] and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[2], and in exercise of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: - 

Citation and commencement
    1.These Regulations may be cited as the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002.

Increases in fees
    2.In regulation 3 of the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops) (Fees) Regulations 1986[3] for "Ј251" there shall be substituted "Ј259" and for "Ј102" there shall be substituted "Ј105".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations amend the Passenger and Goods Vehicles (Recording Equipment) (Approval of Fitters and Workshops)(Fees) Regulations 1986 so as to increase the fees for the approval of fitters or workshops for the installation or repair of recording equipment (tachographs).

The fee for the issue of an approval is increased by 3.2% from Ј251 to Ј259 and for the renewal of an approval by 2.9% from Ј102 to Ј105.
