The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 8 of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986[1] hereby makes the following Order: Citation, commencement and extent 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (Fees) (Amendment) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st April 2002. (2) This Order does not extend to Northern Ireland. Increase in fees 2.The Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (Fees) Order 2000[2] is amended as follows:
(b) in article 2(4) for the sum "Ј153" there is substituted "Ј226"; and (c) in article 3 for the sum "Ј763" there is substituted "Ј1,130".
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order, which does not extend to Northern Ireland, amends the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (Fees) Order 2000 so as to increase the fees payable by the holders of certificates issued under section 6 or 7 of the 1986 Act. Article 2(a) increases, from Ј170 to Ј252, the fixed element of the fee payable for a certificate under section 6 of the 1986 Act. Article 2(b) increases, from Ј153 to Ј226, the variable element of that fee. Article 2(c) increases, from Ј763 to Ј1,130, the fee payable for a certificate issued under section 7 of the 1986 Act.
