The Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001


 Made20th December 2001 

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 44 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.This Order may be cited as the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2001.

Commencement
    2.The following provisions of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001[1] shall come into force on 2nd January 2002:

    (a) section 38;

    (b) section 43 for the purposes of paragraphs 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the Schedule.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings into force section 38 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 on 2nd January 2002. This section gives power to the Secretary of State to make payments to public authorities in respect of their expenditure in relation to the prevention or detection of certain road traffic offences or enforcement action in relation to such offences. It also brings into force certain related minor and consequential amendments.



NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS

The following provision of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001 has been brought into force by commencement order made before the date of this Order.
