Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament: Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1B(1) and (3)(b) of the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows: - Citation and commencement 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Ministerial and other Salaries Order 2001. (2) This Order shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made. Increase of Ministerial salaries in the House of Lords 2.For the annual amount, or the maximum and minimum annual amounts, of salary specified in Parts 1 to 4 of Schedule 1 to the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975 ("the 1975 Act") in relation to each office specified in the first column of Schedule 1 to this Order there is substituted, in the case of a holder of the office who is a member of the House of Lords -
(b) from 1st April 2002, that amount increased by Ј2,000 together with any increase in accordance with section 1A of the 1975 Act. Increase of salaries of Opposition Leaders and Whips in the House of Lords
(b) from 1st April 2002, that amount increased by Ј2,000 together with any increase in accordance with section 1A of the 1975 Act. Interpretation: the interim period
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order increases salaries payable under the Ministerial and other Salaries Act 1975, as amended, to certain Ministers and Members of the Opposition in the House of Lords. The amounts specified in this Order are the maximum salaries payable. The actual salaries may therefore be less. Notes: [1] 1975 c. 27.
