The Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2001
The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 108(3) and (7) of the Local Government Act 2000[1], hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and application 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 7) Order 2001.
(2) This Order applies in relation to England only.
Provisions coming into force on 1st August 2001 2.Sections 94 and 95 of the Local Government Act 2000 shall come into force on 1st August 2001.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order brings into force, in relation to England, further provisions of the Local Government Act 2000.
Article 2 brings into force on 1st August 2001 provisions in section 94 relating to the supply of information about welfare benefits to certain local authorities and providers of welfare services in connection with grants paid under section 93. It also brings into force on that date provisions in section 95 making it an offence to disclose without lawful authority any information supplied by virtue of section 94 which relates to a particular person.
NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS
