The Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No.9) (Amendment) Regulations 2001

	Coming into force	20th July 2001

The National Assembly for Wales, being designated [1] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 [2] in relation to the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by that section, makes the following Regulations:

Title, application and commencement
1.These Regulations may be cited as the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) (Amendment) Regulations 2001; they apply to Wales and come into force on 20th July 2001.

Amendment to the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) Regulations 2001
2.Regulation 1(2) of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) Regulations 2001 [3] is amended by substituting the words "30th September 2001" for the words "20th July 2001".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations/Order)

These Regulations implement Commission Decision 2001/547/EC amending for the sixth time Decision 2001/356/EC concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom (O.J. L 195, 19.7.2001, p.61). The Regulations apply to only to Wales. They extend the expiry date of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No. 9) Regulations 2001 from 20th July to 30th September.
