The Bath and West Community National Health Service Trust (Dissolution) Order 2001

 Coming into force1st April 2001 

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and by section 5(1) of, and paragraph 29(1) of Schedule 2 to, the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, considering it appropriate in the interests of the health service to make this Order[3], and after completion of the consultation prescribed under paragraph 29(3) of Schedule 2 to the latter Act[4], hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
    1.This Order may be cited as the Bath and West Community National Health Service Trust (Dissolution) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 1st April 2001.

Dissolution of NHS trusts
    2. - (1) The Bath and West Community National Health Service Trust established by the Bath and West Community National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1991[5] is hereby dissolved, and accordingly that Order is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order dissolves the Bath and West Community National Health Service Trust on 1st April 2001. It should be read in conjunction with:

     - the Bath and North Somerset Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001[6];

     - the Mendip Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001[7]; and

     - the West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust (Establishment) Order 2001[8].

These trusts are to carry out certain functions previously carried out by the trust which is dissolved by this Order.
