The Post Office Users' National Council (Appointed Day) Order 2000


 Made12th December 2000 
 Coming into force13th December 2000 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 118(1) of the Postal Services Act 2000[1], hereby makes the following Order: - 

Citation and commencement
    1.This Order may be cited as the Post Office Users' National Council (Appointed Day) Order 2000 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

The Appointed Day
    2.The day appointed for the purposes of section 118 of the Postal Services Act 2000 is 1st January 2001.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


Section 118 of the Postal Services Act 2000 provides that on a day appointed by the Secretary of State all the property, rights and liabilities of the Post Office Users' National Council shall transfer to the Consumer Council for Postal Services (established under that Act). This Order sets the 1st January 2001 as the appointed day for this purpose.
