The Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 2000

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 13th day of December 2000

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of sections 1(1) and 1(4) of the School Inspections Act 1996[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

    1.This Order may be cited as the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 14th December 2000.

    2.Michael John Tomlinson is hereby appointed Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools in England for the period commencing on the day on which this Order comes into force until 30th November 2001.

    3.The Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 1994[2] and the Education (Chief Inspector of Schools in England) Order 1999[3] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order appoints Michael John Tomlinson to be Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools in England for the period from 14th December 2000 to 30th November 2001.
