Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by sections 6(2) and 17(4) of the West Indies Act 1967[1] and section 1(2) of the Anguilla Act 1980[2], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows: Citation, construction and commencement 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Anguilla, Montserrat and Virgin Islands (Supreme Court) Order 2000. (2) This Order shall be construed as one with the Supreme Court Order 1967[3] as modified by the Anguilla, Montserrat and Virgin Islands (Supreme Court) Order 1983[4] (hereinafter referred to as "the 1967 Order"). (3) This Order shall come into force on 20th November 2000. Amendment of Supreme Court Order 2. - (1) The following provisions shall have effect in relation to the 1967 Order so far as that Order has effect as part of the law of Anguilla, the law of Montserrat or, as the case may be, the law of the Virgin Islands. (2) Section 10 shall have effect as if the word ", Master" were inserted after the word "judge". (3) Section 12 shall have effect as if -
(b) in subsection (2), the words "the office of Master," were inserted before the words "the office of Chief Registrar". (4) Section 13(1) shall have effect as if the word "Masters," were inserted after the word "judges,". (This note is not part of the Order) This Order provides for the office of Master of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the law of Anguilla, of Montserrat and of the Virgin Islands, following the restructuring of that Court.
