Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 108(5)(d) of the Local Government Act 2000[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:

1.This Order may be cited as the Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2000.

2.The provisions of section 103 of the Local Government Act 2000 shall come into force in relation to England on 25th August 2000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 25th August 2000 the provisions of section 103 of the Local Government Act 2000, amending section 29 of the Children Act 1989 as regards recoupment by local authorities of the cost of providing child care.

NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS

The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by a commencement order made before the date of this Order:
