The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 30E, 122(1), 171D, 171G(2) and 175(2) to (4) of, and paragraph 2(3) of Schedule 7 to, the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals to make these Regulations should not be referred to it[2], hereby makes the following Regulations: Citation and commencement 1.These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Therapeutic Earnings Limits) Amendments Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 2nd October 2000. Amendment of the Social Security (General Benefit) Regulations 1982 2.In regulation 16 of the Social Security (General Benefit) Regulations 1982[3] (earnings level that does not disqualify for unemployability supplement), for the amount "Ј3,042.00" there shall be substituted "Ј3,094.00". Amendment of the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) Regulations 1994 3.In regulation 8 of the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) Regulations 1994[4] (limit of earnings from councillor's allowance), for the amount "Ј58.50" there shall be substituted "Ј59.50". Amendment of the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (General) Regulations 1995 4.In paragraph (2)(a) of regulation 17 of the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (General) Regulations 1995[5] (exempt work), for the amount "Ј58.50" there shall be substituted "Ј59.50". Hugh Bayley Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security 26th July 2000 (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations further amend the Social Security (General Benefit) Regulations 1982 (S.I. 1982/1408), the Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) Regulations 1994 (S.I. 1994/2946) and the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (General) Regulations 1995 (S.I. 1995/311) to take into account the increase in the national minimum wage. Regulation 2 increases the unemployability supplement earnings level from Ј3,042.00 to Ј3,094.00. Regulation 3 increases the councillor's allowance limit from Ј58.50 to Ј59.50. Regulation 4 increases the incapacity for work therapeutic earnings from Ј58.50 to Ј59.50. These Regulations do not impose a charge on business. Notes: [1] 1992 c. 4.
