The Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (Appointed Day No. 10) Order 2000

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 66(8) and 77(2) and (4) of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996[1], hereby makes the following Order:

    1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (Appointed Day No. 10) Order 2000.

    (2) This Order extends to Northern Ireland only.

    2.21st August 2000 is hereby appointed for the purposes of section 66 of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order appoints 21st August 2000 for the purposes of section 66 of the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (summons to witness to attend Crown Court). The Order extends to Northern Ireland only.

Section 66 applies in relation to any proceedings for the purpose of which no summons requiring the attendance of witness has been issued before 21st August 2000.
