The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 8 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1888[1], and section 3 of the Law of Distress Amendment Act 1895[2], hereby makes the following Rules: - Citation and commencement 1. - (1) These Rules may be cited as the Distress for Rent (Amendment) Rules 2000 and shall come into force:
(b) as to the remainder of these Rules, on 3rd July 2000. (2) In these Rules "the principal rules" means the Distress for Rent Rules 1988[3].
(b) the entry relating to Workington. 3.In question 8 of Form 3 (Application for Certificate to Levy Distress) in Appendix 2 to the principal rules, the words from "In support of your answer" to "your home address" shall be deleted. (This note is not part of the Rules) The main provisions of these Rules are consequential on the closure, by virtue of the Civil Courts (Amendment) Order 2000, of the county courts at Lichfield and Workington, and removes references to them from the list of county courts in Appendix 3 to the Distress for Rent Rules 1988. These Rules also contain an amendment to Form 3 (Application for Certificate to Levy Distress) in Appendix 2 to the Distress for Rent Rules 1988.
