The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(2) and (4) of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971[1] and now vested in them[2] hereby make the following Regulations:- Citation and commencement 1.These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions Increase (Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme) Regulations 2000, and shall come into force on 30th March 2000, but shall take effect as specified in regulation 3. Interpretation 2.In these Regulations:
Pensions to which the 1971 Act will apply (This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations apply the provisions of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 to any pensions payable under the Scottish Parliamentary Pension Scheme. Under the power conferred by section 5(4) of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 the Regulations take effect from 21st December 1999.
