The Licensed Conveyancers (Compensation for Inadequate Professional Services) Order 2000

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by paragraph 16(2) of Schedule 8 to the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990[1], hereby makes the following Order-

    1.This Order may be cited as the Licensed Conveyancers (Compensation for Inadequate Professional Services) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 31st March 2000.

    2.In paragraph 16(1) of Schedule 8 to the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990, for the figure "Ј1,000" there shall be substituted the figure " Ј5,000".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order increases the maximum compensation that the Council for Licensed Conveyancers may direct a licensed conveyancer to pay his client for inadequate professional services from Ј1,000 to Ј5,000.
