The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 49(4), 49(5) and 143(4) of the Railways Act 1993[1] hereby makes the following Order: - Citation and Commencement 1.This Order may be cited as the Docklands Light Railway (Miscellaneous Closure Exemptions) Order 1999 and shall come into force on 13th December 1999. Interpretation 2.In this Order -
(ii) the stretch of railway line running for a distance of 245 metres (or thereabouts) northwards from a point 100 metres (or thereabouts) south of the southern end of West India Quay Station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to the junction situated between that station and Poplar Station in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Disapplication of closure provisions (This note is not part of the Order) This Order exempts certain stretches of railway line and Pudding Mill Lane Station, which form part of the Docklands Light Railway, from the closure provisions contained in sections 39 and 41 of the Railways Act 1993 (closure of operational passenger networks and facilities used in connection with passenger services).
