The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:- 1.This Order may be cited as the M1 Motorway (Junction 15) Detrunking Order 1999 and shall come into force on 27th August 1999. 2.In this Order- (1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
3.The lengths of the Motorway described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as principal road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Northamptonshire County Council that the new connecting roads are open for through traffic. (Given the reference letter "A" on the deposited plan). 2.That length of motorway connecting the westbound carriageway of the Motorway with the A508, from its junction with the A508 for a distance of 10 metres eastwards.
