In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 2(5) of the Northern Ireland (Location of Victims' Remains) Act 1999[1], and after consulting the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform of the Government of Ireland, I hereby make the following Order: 1.This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland (Location of Victims' Remains) Act 1999 (Commencement of Section 2) Order 1999. 2.Section 2 of the Northern Ireland (Location of Victims' Remains) Act 1999 shall come into force on the making of this Order. Marjorie Mowlam One of Her Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State Northern Ireland Office 26th May 1999 (This note is not part of the Order) This Order provides for the coming into force of section 2 of the Northern Ireland (Location of Victims' Remains) Act 1999 (c. 7). Section 2 makes provision in relation to the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains, which was established by an agreement made on 27th April 1999 between the United Kingdom and Irish Governments.
