The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and of all other enabling powers: - 1.The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall become an unclassified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Powys of the reclassification. 2.In this Order: - all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
ii. "the trunk road" means the Swansea-Manchester Trunk Road (A483). 3.This Order shall come into force on 5th May 1999 and may be cited as the Swansea-Manchester Trunk Road (A483) (South of Welshpool Bypass Detrunking) Order 1999. The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a Trunk Road is that length of the trunk road from a point about 18 metres south of its junction with Lime Kiln Lane extending in a northeasterly direction for about 0.204 kilometres to its junction with the A458 Trunk Road.
