The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in exercise of the powers conferred by section 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:- Citation and commencement 1.These Regulations may be cited as the M606/M62 (Bradford Link) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1999 and shall come into force on 24th May 1999. Imposition of speed limit 2. - (1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on the restricted length of the Bradford Link. (2) In paragraph (1)-
(b) "the restricted length" of the Bradford Link means that length whose beginning is for the time being indicated by a traffic sign of the size, colour and type shown in diagram 670 of the Traffic Signs Regulations 1994[2] varied to indicate a speed limit of 50 miles per hour and the end by a traffic sign of the size, colour and type shown in diagram 671 of those Regulations.
(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit on the length of motorway linking the M606 Motorway (southbound carriageway) with the M62 Motorway (westbound carriageway).
