The Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 25(1) and (2) of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.This Order may be cited as the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (Commencement No. 6) Order 1998.

Appointed days
    2.The day appointed for the coming into force of sections 20(1), in so far as not already in force, and 21(1) of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 (return of social security post and information about redirection of post) is 16th November 1998.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into force on 16th November 1998 of sections 20(1) in so far as not already in force and 21(1) of the Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 which relate to the return of social security post by the Post Office and others who convey postal packets and information required by the Secretary of State about redirection of the post.
