The A4 Trunk Road (Concorde Roundabout, Hillingdon) (Prohibitions On The Northern Carriageway) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(1) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis pursuant to section 7(6) of the Act[2], hereby makes the following Order:

    1.This Order may be cited as the A4 Trunk Road (Concorde Roundabout, Hillingdon) (Prohibitions on the Northern Carriageway) Order 1998, and shall come into force on 19th October 1998.

    2.In this Order:

    "Concorde Roundabout" means the junction at the Southern terminal of the M4 Heathrow Airport Spur Motorway in the London Borough of Hillingdon;

    "1st prohibited period" means a period between 0400 hours and 1100 hours on Monday 19th October 1998 and thereafter between the same hours on each subsequent morning; and

    "2nd prohibited period" means a period between 1600 hours and 2100 hours on Thursday 22nd October 1998 and thereafter between the same hours on each subsequent Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

    3.Save as provided in article 5 below, no person shall, during the 1st prohibited period or 2nd prohibited period, cause or permit any vehicle to enter into the north side circulatory carriageway of Concorde Roundabout.

    4.Save as provided in article 5 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to turn right from the north side circulatory carriageway of Concorde Roundabout.

    5.The prohibitions specified in articles 3 and 4 above, shall apply only at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs and shall not apply to-

    (a) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes,

    (b) anything done at the direction or with the permission of a constable in uniform or a traffic warden.
