In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 22 of the Northern Ireland (Sentences) Act 1998[1], I hereby make the following Order:

    1.This Order may be cited as the Northern Ireland (Sentences) Act 1998 (Commencement) Order 1998.

    2.The Northern Ireland (Sentences) Act 1998 shall come into force on the making of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into force of the Northern Ireland (Sentences) Act 1998 on the making of this Order. The Act makes provision about the release on licence of certain persons serving sentences of imprisonment in Northern Ireland.
