The Building Act 1984 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1998


 Made17th July 1998 

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 120(1) and 134(1)(d) of the Building Act 1984[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.This Order may be cited as the Building Act 1984 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1998.

Commencement
    2.Paragraph 9 of Schedule 1 to the Building Act 1984 shall come into force on 7th August 1998.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order brings Paragraph 9 of Schedule 1 to the Building Act 1984 into force on 7th August 1998. The paragraph enables building regulations to be made which authorise local authorities to fix and to recover charges for or in connection with the performance of their functions relating to building regulations.
