MAGISTRATES' COURTS

The Magistrates' Courts Committees (Merseyside) Amalgamation (Amendment) Order 1998

Having consulted in accordance with section 32(5) of the Justices of the Peace Act 1997[1], the Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 32(3) and (8) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order:

    1.This Order may be cited as the Magistrates' Courts Committees (Merseyside) Amalgamation (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 1st June 1998.

    2.In paragraph 1 of the Schedule to the Magistrates' Courts Committees (Merseyside) Amalgamation Order 1998[2]: - 

    (a) in the fefinition of "the first appointed day", for "June" there shall be substituted "July";

    (b) in the definition of "the second appointed day", for "July" there shall be substiuted "August".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)


This Order corrects an error in the Magistrates' Courts Committees (Merseyside) Amalgamation Order 1998. The first appointed day is changed from 1st June 1998 to 1st July 1998, and the second apponted day is changed from 1st July 1998 to 1st August 1998.
