The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him[1] by sections 1A and 4 of the Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Act 1938[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: Citation, commencement and interpretation 1. - (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1st April 1998. (2) In these Regulations, a reference to "the principal Regulations" is a reference to the Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Regulations 1990[3]. Amendment of Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations 2.For Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations there shall be substituted the following:-
(This note is not part of the Regulations) These Regulations further amend the Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Regulations 1990, which make provision for the registration in respect of nursing homes under the Nursing Homes Registration (Scotland) Act 1938. These Regulations increase the prescribed fee which a Health Board may impose in respect of applications for registration and for continuation of registration and related procedures. (The fees currently prescribed are Ј678, Ј22, Ј100, and Ј10).
