The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 21(3) and 57 of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994[1] and by virtue of the Department of Transport (Fees) Order 1988[2], hereby makes the following Regulations: - Citation and commencement 1.These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles Registration Fee Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 1th April 1998. Fee for registration of a mechanically propelled vehicle 2. - (1) A vehicle, which is note a vehicle falling within paragraph (2) below, shall not be registered under section 22 of the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 unless a fee of Ј25 has been paid to the Secretary of State. (2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to a vehicle which is an exempt vehicle by virtue of paragraph 18 or 19 of Schedule 2 to that Act.
